Beauty, lace and love at Villa Amor!

Last month Kim and Theo and their family and friends traveled down to Sayulita for their beautiful wedding at Villa Amor. This is one of my favorite places to shoot in Sayulita, the reception takes place at the top of the hill at La Gran Villa with a breathtaking view of all of town and the ocean, and of course the always wonderful wedding planner Karen Ruezga did a fantastic job.  Kim has such a great sense of style, the lace dress she chose was stunning, and the amazing flowers by Flor Mimo had color and texture and tied the look together. Their bridal party was a blast to shoot and the guests partied all night long!

Congrats Kim & Theo!!

Candy & Mike’s fun wedding day in Litibu!

Candy and Mike left cold Canada to come to sunny Mexico for their intimate wedding at the Iberostar, a beautiful all inclusive resort in Litibu. One of the things I love about shooting small destination weddings is the amazing vibe it creates when everybody feels such a part of the big day. Mike and Candy are a really fun, non traditional couple and wanted to make sure that we captured that in their photos, so we had a great time playing around on the beach after the ceremony and got some great shots!

Congrats Mike and Candy!!

Ashley & Jonathan’s Sayulita wedding

The beginning of the month Ashley and Jonathan and their family and friends traveled down here to Sayulita to celebrate and have a fiesta! Coordinated by the wonderful Yazmin of Sea of Dreams Weddings and beautiful flowers by Francisco Salazar, and held at the stunning Don Pedro’s Palapa,  this was a fun filled and gorgeous wedding! The touching ceremony was officiated by the bride’s uncle, and there were tears all around. The bride looked beautiful, the groom was handsome, the mariachi band was hopping and the tequila was flowing, just another perfect Sayulita wedding!

Congratulations Ashley & Jonathan!

Casey & Nikki’s Trash The Dress mexican style!

Another awesome trash the dress shoot! I think one of the coolest things to do when you have a destination wedding is to do a trash the dress session after the wedding. It allows us to explore the area, and really soak in the atmosphere. This was one of my favorite ones so far!

Sarah & Tim’s Villa Amor wedding!

Last month Sarah & Tim brought their friends and family down to Sayulita for an amazing wedding celebration! Karen at Villa Amor did a fantastic job as always coordinating the event, and Mireya from Flor Mimo put together a stunning wedding look for the decor. This is one of my favorite kinds of weddings in Mexico, the bride chose bright vibrant colors and textures for the look, and the friends and family came ready to party! Sarah also had one of the most fabulous dresses I have ever seen! Usually having a beach wedding in mexico evokes a more relaxed and flowey look to the dresses, but sometimes its really cool to see something totally different. Sara’s dress was sexy and dramatic, and we got to do a trash the dress shoot a few days later with it! So stay tuned for those photos coming up soon 🙂

Wonderful day, wonderful couple. Congratulations Sarah & Tim!!

Virginia & Steven’s amazing wedding!

A few weeks ago my lovely friend Virginia and her crazy (in a good way, lol) fiance Steven came down to Sayulita to get married! I met Virginia 2 years ago when I opened my studio in Sayulita. She was living down there and we became fast friends. She and Steven had a holiday romance that went way beyond a few days in Mexico! They now live in Washington state, and decided to get married in the place where it all started, Sayulita! It is one of my favorite things to be able to shoot the wedding of people I know and love, and this one was top of the list! It was a blast to see so many of my friends gather together to celebrate this beautiful couple, and to party all night!! Congratulations Virginia & Steven!!

Trash The Dress jungle style!

If anybody deserved to have a fantastic trash the dress shoot, it would be Tiffany and Chris! She unfortunately was really sick on the day of their wedding. And while it was a beautiful and touching ceremony, I know she was not feeling at her best. So as she said the day of the TTD shoot, she got a second chance for photos! And she rocked it 🙂 We went back to the secluded beach where they were married, but this time ventured into the jungle for some fun, crazy photos. The second chance was a success!! Loved the photos, and love a couple that really explores the area they decide to have their destination wedding 🙂

An intimate beach wedding

A few weeks ago Tiffany & Chris traveled down to Sayulita for their wedding. They decided to have a small, intimate affair with just their children and Chris’s parents there. I love a small wedding, it creates a beautiful really touching feel for the event. Even though the town was jammed packed with people on vacation for spring break, we managed to find a beautiful and empty spot on the beach for the ceremony. Tiffany wasn’t feeling great (to say the least!) but she powered through it and it was a lovely day. We also did a trash the dress shoot a few days later so stay tuned for more photos!

Congratulations Tiffany & Chris!

Jenny & Michael’s vintage style mexican wedding!

Jenny And Michael travelled down to Sayulita with their closest friends and family for their lovely wedding. Somer from Vida Bonita Events was the local planner that helped everything to run smoothly and Flor Mimo provided all the beautiful flowers for the big day. Jenny was stunning in a pale pink vintage style gown. Ella Leyva worked her magic on the bride’s hair, the beautiful hair combs and jewelry Jenny chose completely matched her vintage style, and the whole look was perfect! Michael was looking quite handsome as well, and we had fun roaming around town before the ceremony for photos. The ceremony and reception were at Don Pedros Palapa. One of my favorite wedding venues in Sayulita, the view is always amazing! Congratulations Jenny & Michael on a perfect day!

Sayulita style!

A couple weeks ago Chris and Kristen and their friends and family traveled down to Sayulita for their beach style wedding. The morning started out a bit rough, the bride unfortunately was sick, and we weren’t even sure how she would get down the aisle! But the magic of Sayulita (and the help of the pharmacy!) got her back on her feet and she looked amazing as the beautiful ceremony went off without a hitch. Courtney from Sunset Soiree planed the fab event and Mireya from Flor Mimo created the gorgeous flowers. The party was a blast, the guests enjoyed traditional tacos and a surprise mariachi band, and danced all night. I guess Sayulita really is a magical place!

Congrats Chris and Kristen!!
